Set up your first Box

A Silkweave Box is your team's own instance: one repository plus its data/ folder, running on a machine you control.

What you need

• Bun 1.4.2 or newer
• Git
• Optionally Flutter, if you want the mobile app

Steps

1. Clone your Box repository and run bun install.
2. Set your team's name, brand and system principal in box.json. Machine-specific settings such as ports go in box.local.json, which is never committed.
3. Run bun setup. It creates the first owner, detects local Codex and Claude profiles, and gives you a single-use sign-in link.
4. Start the Box with box dev and open the link.

The onboarding dashboard then recommends a few recipes to start with.
